Jeff Morris
Executive Director,

Jeff Morris serves as Executive Director of Mountain Community Schools, providing leadership and strategic direction for both The Mountain Community School and Mountain Community Online School. He has led TMCS since 2025, guiding the school’s growth while preserving the close-knit culture and educational philosophy that have defined it since 1999.
Jeff’s approach to leadership is grounded in relationships, intentional culture, and a belief that great schools are built from the inside out. Under his leadership, MCS made the strategic decision to expand its reach by launching MCOS in 2026 — bringing the same values, standards, and commitment to students to families across North Carolina who could not otherwise access them.
He is a visible, hands-on leader who believes that the best educational organizations are ones where every student is known, every teacher is supported, and the mission stays at the center of every decision.

Bethel Dirks serves as Operations Manager for Mountain Community Schools, overseeing enrollment, communications, and the day-to-day operational functions that support both schools. She brings a systems-oriented approach to a role that requires managing multiple priorities with clarity and consistency — and she does it with the kind of reliability that growing organizations depend on.
Bethel has been part of the MCS community since 2018 and has grown alongside the organization through significant change, including the development and launch of MCOS. She is frequently the first point of contact for prospective families, community partners, and staff — and her responsiveness and care set the tone for how MCS shows up in every interaction.
